Dr. Lauren Lampron

Director

Dr. Lampron has extensive experience as a teacher and administrator as well as a lecturer at NC State University. She recently led SouthWest Edgecombe High School as the principal, and previously served as the assistant principal of W.A. Pattillo Middle School in Tarboro for six years. She taught seventh and eighth grade English language arts and social studies at CB Martin Middle School in Tarboro. She also taught fourth grade English language arts and mathematics in Oxford, Mississippi.

Dr. Lampron holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology from West Chester University and earned teaching credentials through Teach for America’s partnership with East Carolina University. She has a Master of School Administration and Doctor of Education degrees from NC State University.

Dr. Tony Stewart

Assistant Director

Tony graduated from East Carolina University as a N.C. Teaching Fellow with a degree in Science Education.  He has served students, families and teachers for twenty years and began his career with Johnston County Public Schools teaching Biology and Physical Science at Clayton High School.  He was recognized as the district’s Outstanding First Year Teacher in 2001.  Having experienced a taste of teacher leadership, he went on to earn his Masters of School Administration from N.C. State University in 2006.
